AFOS Member, Dr. Richard Wan, will present a 1-hr COPE accredited course titled "Vision Readiness: Eyecare Challenges in Marine Boot Camp". 

This course explores the unique eye care challenges faced by recruits during military boot camp, including environmental factors and public health challenges that pertain to the eye and vision.

Dr. Richard Wan

LT Wan serves as the Department Head of Optometry at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Beaufort, where he oversees the operations of the Beaufort Marine Corps Air Station and Parris Island Eye Clinics as well as the embedded Optical Fabrication Laboratory.

In addition to providing direct care, he enjoys getting involved beyond the clinical setting in various roles within the command, Federal Optometry, and through broader, multidisciplinary public health vision research.
