Bryan Sixkiller, OD, FAAO (Air Force)
Dr. Bryan Sixkiller is the Human Performance Flight Commander at Joint Base Charleston. He oversees the Optometry clinic, Physical Therapy clinic and Health Promotions services. He ensures full scope optometric, physical therapy services, and health promotion strategies to enable ready warfighters. Additionally, Maj Sixkiller is the Biomedical Service Corps (SGB) Executive mentoring 17 officers in 10 product lines delivering $16M of medical care annually.
Maj Sixkiller also served as Chief, Clinical Systems Evaluations at Fort Detrick, MD, where he delivered operational test and evaluation, and market research for the Air Force Medical Evaluation Support Activity. Prior to that, he was Optometry Flight Commander at Eielson Air Force Base, AK, and an Optometrist at Cannon Air Force Base, NM. He also currently serves as the Clinical Operations Chief for the Air Force Optometry Corporate Board.
Maj Sixkiller was raised in Claremore, OK. He attended Rogers State University in Claremore and obtained an Associate of Arts before enlisting in the Marine Corps. While in the Marine Corps, Sixkiller deployed to Iraq with the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, and also to Afghanistan with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit. Following 5 years of enlisted service, he completed his Bachelors of Science and Doctorate of Optometry from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. His professional interests are treating binocular vision disorders and pediatric eye care. While a member of PACAF, he was able to participate in PAC-ANGEL missions to Bangladesh and Timor Leste providing eye care to remote villages.
